Mr. Fantastic had fun doing a ‘music marketing’ campaign for Volkswagen Jetta in China! We created a custom “shenqu” (Chinese for “devilish song”). And a new Chinese girl group called YWGG recorded it. Get ready to get wild and check out the “Lao Si Ji” MV here.
We visited the infamous Robot Restaurant, tried amazing Ramen, and oh yeah… wrote/produced a bunch of new songs at a songwriting camp jointly held by Sony/ATV Music Publishing China and Sony Music Publishing Japan. We enjoyed collaborating with Japanese songwriters for artists like Bibi Zhou (China), TFBOYS (China), The Rampage (Japan), and J Soul Brothers (Japan). We almost got the word “robot” in one of the songs! Check out some pics from our first-ever trip to Japan.
Tencent worked with Mr. Fantastic to create a song for the game’s Chinese New Year celebration. The program reached over 10 million viewers.

During their last trip to Beijing, Mr. Fantastic was fortunate enough to sit down with Jay Li, founder of behinders.com, to discuss everything from career paths to working with amazing vocalists in the studio. All three segments of the interview can be watched here.
Another productive writing camp in the books! It was fun and challenging to create new material geared for Chinese pop stars like Li Yuchun (Chris Lee) and Lu Han (formerly of EXO). We also got the opportunity to work with 2016 Super Girl winner WineQ. Keep an ear out for a new sound … “reggame” … reggae + anime 🙂 Check out some pics from our latest trip to mainland China.
Mr. Fantastic was invited to be the keynote speaker at the 2016 Golden Melody Festival in Taipei, Taiwan. Topic was “Bridging Asia and the West through Music.” Last year’s keynote speaker was Randy Jackson of American Idol fame.
